Dr. Bhaskar Gopalan is a graduate of Queens University. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Western Ontario, in London. He completed his residency in family medicine and worked in Uxbridge, ON as rural a family doctor. He returned to residency at Ottawa University to achieve his Emergency Medicine certification and proceeded to work at the Queensway Carleton Hospital Emergency Department.
Dr. Gopalan has been actively involved at Queensway Carleton Hospital. He served two years as Deputy Chief of Staff. Following that, he was appointed the Chief and Medical Director of the Emergency Department, a role continues to serve in this role today.
In addition to his administrative and clinical practice at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Dr. Gopalan has a particular interest in addictions medicine. He obtained his certification through the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto. He has been working with patients who have been struggling with addictions at his clinic “Recovery West Ottawa.”
Dr. Gopalan also has expertise with pain management using medical marijuana as an alternative to opioids.
Dr. Gopalan resides in Ottawa with his wife and enjoys life with his two children
