How do we get wrinkles?
Many wrinkles are actually creases created by making the same expression again and again and by prolonged exposure to UV light.
These are called “expression lines” or dynamic wrinkles (this includes frown lines, crow’s feet around the eyes, and forehead lines).
These wrinkles can add years to our appearance and often making us look tired, worried or even angry when we are not!
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a highly purified, naturally occurring protein which has the ability to very precisely relax the muscles to which it is applied. This relaxation lasts for a number of months, and then the treated muscles gradually return to their original condition.
BOTOX® Cosmetic does not affect the nerves responsible for sensation, so there is no numbness in the treated areas.
You can stop BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments at any time and you will gradually return to your pre-treatment appearance.
Regular use of BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment will lead to a long term reduction in wrinkles, in particular if you are careful to protect that skin from sun exposure and smoke.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a safe and effective treatment which can help you to control your facial expressions so that you don’t look angry, tired or worried.
In other words it helps you to get back whatever the years had taken from your natural beauty. If wrinkles are starting to make you look older or more negative, BOTOX® Cosmetic will help restore the rested, confident and refreshed appearance you desire.
How does BOTOX® Cosmetic Work?
The benefits of BOTOX® Cosmetic on wrinkles come from ability of BOTOX® Cosmetic to relax those muscle group that are causing the skin to form wrinkles. By relaxing those muscle group the skin regains its tone and smoothen those wrinkle lines.
The treated muscles usually start to relax within a day or two, and reach their maximum degree of relaxation within two weeks.
After the first treatment the effect of BOTOX® Cosmetic will last up to 6 months, however if you receive your second treatment at about 3-4 interval prior the effect of BOTOX® Cosmetic wears off , will likely cause for that effect to last even longer.
People who maintain their BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment find after a couple of years that they can go up to12 months between treatments.
BOTOX® Cosmetic injection is an art that involves a knowledge of muscle anatomy and skin topography, as such at La Vie we pay particular attention to personalize each treatment, so that normal facial expression is unaffected.
BOTOX® treatments can also prevent new lines from forming in the areas on your face, forehead and neck which are treated.
What is BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment like?

BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments are very quick and gentle.
No general, or local anaesthesia needed. However we ALWAYS use anaesthetic cream on the skin surface to maximize your comfort.
You will be able to return to your daily activities immediately after the treatment.
