Medical Screening Service
Get your first Medical ID…It tells your health story
whenever is needed
Cardiovascular
diseases and cancer devastate families and leave thousands
of business owners and family members helpless. An estimated
159,900 new cases of cancer and 72,700 deaths from cancer
occurred in Canada in 2007. Also, cardiovascular diseases
accounted for the deaths of more Canadians than any other
disease. In 2002, cardiovascular diseases accounted for 74,626
Canadian deaths. The impact of these diseases surpasses the
life or death issue to have a disastrous affect on families
and businesses caused by an alarming unhealthy lifestyle and
late diagnosis.
Now for the first time in Canada, La Vie through its My Life
is in My Hand Program is offering patients a portable personal
health file that may be given (in case of emergency) to any
healthcare unit anywhere in the world.
While there is no similar system of electronic medical files
in Canada, La Vie’s team is proud to introduce the first
Medical Screening Center that will help all Canadians to have
their first Medical ID; it can save lives and cut on unnecessary
testing.
The annual screening will be a proactive approach in prevention
and possible early detection of diseases, and will include
the following:
- ECG,
- Complete Blood Work (unless a test has been done in the
past 12 months),
- InBody Nutrition Analysis,
- Complete medical profile which includes detailed information
including medical and family history and risk stratification,
- Vitals and body measurement,
- Chart review, recommendations, and referrals (if necessary)
will be provided by a physician based on each medical profile
and in accordance with the most recent medical guidelines.
All results will be loaded on a USB Card which will be as
the medical ID that contains all baseline information that
may save lives, and give all important information for the
person's family doctor or any other health care provider.
Further through this medical screening, we have created a
link to all health care providers and giving them accessibility
to the patient's medical profile for faster medical decisions.
This service is available by appointment only and it does
not eliminate the need to have the annual physical with one’s
family doctor because it is not the same as the annual physical.
However, this mobile and cost effective tool allows the easy
interaction between healthcare units allowing doctors to make
a faster and more accurate decision.
