Dr. Hassan Sannoufi, MD, CCFP
Dr. Hassan Sannoufi MD, CCFP, EM founder and president of La Vie Health Centre and the visionary of its whole life concept in health care, knew from an early age that his life goal would lead to medicine. At age eight, he had seen his father undergo open-heart surgery, and even at that young age, recognized that lifestyle choices of poor diet, tobacco use, stress, and physical inactivity can have significant adverse health effects. He realized that knowledge about primary disease prevention and lifestyle modification could have prevented his father’s illness.
After graduation from medical school, Dr. Sannoufi began his medical career at McGill University in research focused on identifying genetic markers for breast cancer.
Deeply touched by the devastation that breast cancer inflicts on the lives of women, his belief was once again reinforced that, hand-in-hand with early detection, lifestyle modification was an important key to disease prevention.
Two years later, Dr. Sannoufi turned his focus on expanding his knowledge of family medicine in the Nebraska health care system in Omaha, and later in family medicine residency at Dalhousie University in Halifax. While in residency at Dalhousie he became chief resident in the family medicine department and participated in the 2004 interview process for the family medicine training program.
Since 2004, Dr. Sannoufi has been working as a Emergency Physician at the Queensway Carleton Hospital – Ottawa, and many other hospitals across Ontario.
Throughout Dr. Sannoufi’s diverse medical experiences, evidence has confirmed what he recognized as a young boy, that a preventative and comprehensive approach to health care is the key to enjoying good health and a quality lifestyle.
La Vie Health Centre is the true reflection of Dr. Sannoufi’s dream and vision.
